This month still sucks but things are getting a bit better lately. My winrate is back up to 6 BB/100 at NL5 after a good day today. I think my true winrate in that game right now is 7, so its not off by too much anymore. I will hit goldstar in the next day or two solely from NL5 which is cool.

I know I have some people reading this blog now and I feel like I should put some content on here from time to time. Truthfully, I have been on a horrible downswing this whole month (excluding today) and didn't feel like writing anything. It would all be negative anyways.
I am trying to follow rule number 3 from that list I posted last week which involves shutting the fuck up about running bad. I just get more tilted usually when I rant on here anyways. It doesn't help lol.
All my play this month has been at NL5. I am on pace for 231k hands which is great. I am still hoping to move up to NL25 this month. I will probably at least try out the 20-50bb tables as its the same buyin amount I use right now at NL5.

I ran pretty bad today. I typed up a nice rant to post here and then erased it. I don't want to subject my readers to that. I don't want to subject myself to that!
I found this simple piece of wisdom in a forum post the other day. What is the secret to being successful at poker you ask? The secret is following these steps:
1. Find a poker game that you can beat consistently
2. Make sure you're properly bankrolled for the game
3. Shut up about running badly because honestly nobody cares. Man the fuck up, and just get over it. If you're following step #2 then no downswing should ever truly matter.
4. Work your ass off
5. Profit

Villain is a very tight regular, like 10/5. He was actually the BB in the hand I posted yesterday. He claimed to have QQ in that hand. So obviously he is quite passive and doesn't like to fold overpairs.
In this hand, preflop and flop are standard. My turn bet is totally standard as well. I should have folded when he raised though. But I was a bit tilty and had position and his raise just felt spazzy. He might also have the same hand as me and if he checks the river I can perhaps move him off it. If he bets the river I can fold pretty easily.
Anyways, the interesting part of this hand was the river. He made his bet instantly. Clearly he didn't even look at the board and see that it was one card to a str8. Since I can easily rep 87 here, and he never has a str8 himself, I can now happily shove AK as a bluff and take the pot.

I got through all 9k hands though with minimal tilt. Usually when I run as bad as I did today I have to quit sessions early and go clear my head. This prevents me from playing as much as I want to though.
So today I went back to experimenting with not checking the cashier. I often try not to check it during a session but today I didn't check it at all, until the end of the day. This helps me avoid focusing on a dollar amount and just play my game. I need to do this everyday from now on.

Hands Played April - 206288!
Comments:
New monthly record for most hands played in a month. I beat last month's mark by about 3k hands. Goals for May are to play more than 206288 hands and to move up to NL25 at some point.
My graph for the month looks remarkably similar to last month's. Just like last month, I had a decent size downswing near the end of the month. The first 118k hands are NL2. The last 88k hands are NL5. All full ring. I probably made another $100-200 in stellar rewards and FPP value.
