Today I had to quit early in the first session. Things were going bad again and I felt very tilted. I don't think I have been playing up to par during this downswing, and I am glad I just quit and took the rest of the day off.
Downswings happen, and will always happen in poker. I need to play my A game no matter what is going on with the cards. That is the crucial difference between the biggest winners and the rest. The biggest winners, and thus the best players, make good decisions, all the time.
I have to challenge myself to play better tomorrow, even if the downswing continues. Don't complain, cuz nobody cares. This happens to everybody. Most can't take it. I can. I did still book a small win on the day.

I even got 1 outed on the river, the one time set over set was in my favor lol. It felt like one of those can't win days, and I actually quit a bit early cuz I had that hopeless feeling, that I can't win a pot.
On the bright side, I actually did still make money on the day, albeit very little. I think I came as close as I ever have to having a losing day at the limits I play. Ran like God today. No one would believe how much money I make at micro stakes if I told them. I've been on a true heater the past 14k hands. I don't believe I have ever had a heater this long before in over a million lifetime hands. Its amazing how quickly things change. Just 2 days ago, I was finishing up a frustrating 20k hand downswing.
I always tell myself, if I can just get on a real heater one time, I'm gonna destroy these stakes at a winrate no one has ever heard of before. Well, 25ptbb/100 today, and I think it was pretty similar yesterday. Times are good, but this game has so many hills and valleys, there is no point in considering it much further.
It will be quite difficult to complete this challenge of 200k hands for the month. I am not giving up. But at least there are smaller more achievable goals that I can be happy with. #1 would be breaking my record of 125k hands in one month. I believe I can certainly do that. 150k or more and I will be relatively happy. And I will try this challenge again next month.

Its amazing how you can run bad for 20k hands and then all of a sudden, like a light switch, the bad beats and coolers stop, you start making sets again etc. and the money pours in again. I play way better when I am running average or good than when running bad. I have to focus on solid play when running bad. It really makes all the difference in the world on your winrate.
I noticed my stamina is also increasing for longer sessions. Good eating habits and exercise have a lot to do with that. I've been trying to think of when to put my workout in and I think after the first session, every other day, is the best spot for it.
The last thing that I want to stress is this. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT when playing against total retards. Stop trying to ram and jam stuff down their throat. Since they will call anything, all you end up doing is value betting their hands for them. I waste too much money trying to outplay a moron who called a huge raise with K4. He hit a Kxx flop and my QQ is no good. He isn't folding, thats the one thing we know for sure. Paying off moron sized bets is one thing. Raising pot and shoving is totally different and complete spew against this sort of opponent.
Its boring as fuck, but you MUST be patient and wait for hands, against an army of calling stations.

I didn't actually get a chance to play on Day 2. I stayed the night at a friends after the concert. Day 3 I played a lot. Over 4 sessions I probably ran close to average by the end. Sessions 1 &3 were a bit brutal and I ran pretty good in 2 & 4. I will fix that slightly negative pace tomorrow.
Just some thoughts on the mass multi tabling. Slow your mind down. Sometimes I get too emotionally invested in pots or against certain players. It doesn't matter what happens, so long as I made the correct play. Really focus on correct lines and bet sizing.
Stop worrying about being backlogged on some other tables. They can wait. I'm costing myself a decent amount each session by mistakenly folding PP's PF and not taking the time to consider the profitable price I often get with longshot draws.

July Challenge
Gonna try and put in 200k hands in July and record my progress each day on here. My best for a month is 125k I believe, so it will be a lofty challenge to be sure. Just so I remember for my first post I want a Hands Played Today/Total Hands Played/Hands Needed/Pace +/- Then a comments section below.
Just to update this year b/c I haven't posted in awhile. I have played fairly consistently, June being an exception. I play at Pokerstars only now (had enough with Full Tilt) and at low limits. I've got a pretty good setup for grinding now with loads of scripts running. Anyways, thats it for now. I hope to be able to start this on July 1st but can't be certain, as I'm going to a concert that night and some other stuff. If not, July 2nd for sure.
