I wouldn't worry too much about what PTR says about you. That grading thing is mostly a bunch of nonsense in my opinion. I never use it.

What has been done to fight against ptr and what can be done ?
And what about the option of hiding your stats ? Do you think it will at least exist one day ?
There's a bunch of threads in a bunch of different poker forums that discuss about it but I think it's annoying to read since so many people post that there's a lot of nonsense, a lot of pointless post. So maybe you can advise me and tell me which threads contains the most valuable informations ?

ReplyDeleteI don't hate PTR. I just think that they should offer an opt out option like every other tracking site out there does.
I don't know anything more about it than anyone else. I emailed Stars a little over a year ago and they said that they were actively working on it. Obviously it wasn't an important enough issue for them.
Ultimately I don't think there is anything that can be done about it and its probably not worth worrying about anymore.
PTR runs their business in direct violation of the TOS of every site they track. They also provide sensitive information against the wishes of many of their users. People with morals this unscrupulous tend to have enough problems of their own in life.
Is there a stat which can identify players that use this play?
ReplyDeleteI play a live $1/$2 game where there is a reg who almost _always_ bets the turn when it's checked around on the flop - and I float him every three hands or so and bet the river to take it away and it works (so far).
I can identify people live that do this because I play with them a lot; online the pool changes faster so... is there a stat that would likely point out this kind of player?
I would probably just look at aggression factor as individual street stats will take a lot longer to become statistically reliable.
