Hey guys, just a quick post here. Actually first, I just want to say thanks for all the interest and kind words regarding the coaching options in the previous post. Its been great working with some of you so far and I look forward to going over the video submissions on DragTheBar in a few days.
For this post though I just wanted to link to a free video of mine. DTB has a Youtube channel and they post excerpts or full installments of a video each month. I just found out about this today by the way or I would have posted about this before haha.
Anyways, they chose one of my videos this month, in full. It is the final part of my Crushing The Micros II series played at NL10. Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave any comments or questions regarding it below.

Coaching This Fall
Hey guys. Lots of stuff going on regarding coaching so let me get started.
Coaching (paid)
I have been offering private coaching now for a few months and have worked with several students. It is definitely something that I enjoy doing.
Edit: Please note that this is a very old post and I am no longer a coach at Dragthebar.
In fact, I don't offer 1 on 1 poker coaching anymore.
However, I do have a comprehensive poker course now which is open for enrollment here.

I have been offering private coaching now for a few months and have worked with several students. It is definitely something that I enjoy doing.
However, I had kind of set my rate prohibitively high lately because I have been busy with other things non-poker related.
But I want to get some more students on the go now as well as get more experience and more feedback.
But I want to get some more students on the go now as well as get more experience and more feedback.
Even though I am already one of the most affordable poker coaches out there, most of the people looking into my services are micro stakes players. They can't afford the rates that most poker coaches charge.
So I am going to experiment with dramatically lowering my rate for awhile to $25 per hour and see how that works.
Coaching (free)
Now I also want to offer a free coaching option as well. Sort of haha. There is always a catch right? The catch is pretty easy though in my opinion. First, you need to sign up to DragTheBar.com
I want to be completely clear on the signup process as I anticipate questions. I even tested it out myself before I wrote this to make sure.

You do not need to signup for a monthly paid account or even the 7 day free trial. You absolutely can if you like, don't get me wrong. DTB is a fantastic learning tool and community with the best coaches by far in my opinion.
However for the purposes of this free coaching all you need to do is register a DTB username and password. When the credit card or paypal screen comes up just hit cancel or exit out and you will be good to go.
Next you need to upload a video of yourself playing poker.
When you are finished uploading your video please pm me on DTB to let me know. Also please tell me a little bit about yourself (your general strategy, your poker history, just a few words) I will download your video and record my thoughts over it. Feel free to add your own audio with your thoughts as well, but don't feel obligated to do so.
I would ask that you keep your video to around 30 minutes in length and 4 tables or less. I will be pausing it at times to discuss a hand in depth and the final product for DTB needs to be around 45 minutes.
And I just want to be clear on this as well. Your video, with my thoughts added, will be re-released as an official DTB video sometime next month. So basically you are going to be famous :p
Also, I think most people already know this but I am a full ring specialist and play primarily microstakes. So it would be preferable if your video fits these targets as well.
I have no idea what kind of demand there will be on this. I hope lots. But I can only publish 3 videos per month so if there is a lot of demand I will just go in order of submission and get to them in the following month.
One last thing, as I try to anticipate the logistics of this. Some people may not wish to actually join DTB which means that they won't be able to watch the final product. If that is the case I will get you hooked up with some free site-wide access for a couple days so that you can watch it or download it when it comes out. So don't worry about that.
There is no cost whatsoever for you. In fact another coach may even choose to do some commentary on your video as well. I hope this sounds like a good idea for some of you!
If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Thanks guys.

How to Spend Your Pokerstars FPP's
Please note that as of January 1, 2016 FPPs no longer exist on Pokerstars. The new player points are called StarsCoin and I have written a followup article for that here:
How to Spend Your Pokerstars StarsCoins
I will leave the old FPP article up below for historical purposes.
This article explains the best way to spend your Pokerstars FPPs if you are not Supernova.
Supernova players should just buy the cash bonuses in the VIP store of $600 for 40k FPP or $1600 for 100k FPP. These equate to 1.5c and 1.6c per FPP respectively.
However, the vast majority of the readers of this blog likely aren't Supernova or even close to it. So how do you get the best value for your FPPs?
The best way to spend them in my opinion is to play the 235 FPP hyper turbo satellites (You will find these at Sit & Go > Satellite > FPP in the Pokerstars lobby). These 6max sit n go's award an entry into the Sunday Storm (an $11 value) if you finish in the top 2 spots. 3rd place is awarded a largely meaningless 10 FPP and everybody else gets nothing.
A completely average player (cashing 1/3 times) would get 1.6c per FPP playing these things which is already equal to the best Supernova rate so the value here is fantastic. That said, there is a time component that must be factored in as well (you have to play them!).
Generally I will wait until I have at least 10k FPP sitting around in my account. I should be able to blow through this by 4 tabling these satellites for a couple hours.
Since you only start with 10 big blinds and blinds increase every 9 hands, at a first glance these will look like one big stupid shove fest to you. Truthfully they are pretty ridiculous (channel that inner degen!). However there is definitely still some skill involved in them by following a few strategy guidelines.
By the way, if you're new to poker and you just want to know exactly what hands to play, grab my free poker cheat sheet.
Memorize the charts. Stop guessing. Start winning.
My Free Poker Cheat Sheet Teaches You How to Make $1000+ Per Month on PokerStars
Are you struggling to beat low stakes poker games like 2NL, 5NL, 10NL, 25NL online or $1/$2, $2/$5 live?
Do you want a simple step by step guide to show you exactly how to start winning consistently right now?

That is why I recently wrote this free little 50 page no BS guide to teach you exactly how to start crushing these games right now.
You will learn the exact poker strategies I have used as a 10+ year poker pro to consistently make $1000+ per month in small stakes poker games on PokerStars.
Enter your details below and I will send my free poker cheat sheet to your email right now.
235 FPP Hyper Turbo Strategy
During the first level (25/50 with a 10 ante) only play 88+ and AQ+ (always shove of course)
Don't get caught up with all the random idiots shoving any two cards. Stay alive and just be patient. Usually 1 or 2 people will be eliminated during this stage.
During the second level (50/100) shove any Ace, pair, broadway or reasonable King
You have to start moving the chips around a little more now although I might still fold the very bottom end of this range in early position (i.e. hands like A2/22/QT/K9). Stealing the blinds is very important. But again, stay patient, don't worry if you only have like 3 big blinds. It's ok.
End Game
Again stay patient. Do not shove any two. But you will need to add most Queens and suited connectors to the range above now. Stealing the blinds is of critical importance. But you also don't want to finish 3rd.
I have played a lot of these things over the years. I have been able to maintain a 1.8c or 1.9c per FPP win rate by following the above strategy. This is a higher rate of rakeback than even the top cash bonus for Supernova.
It kind of goes without saying that there is heavy variance in these satellites though. Expect to see some crazy, crazy stuff. I am sure I have gone like 20 in a row before without even cashing.
You can definitely improve your chances though by studying some advanced poker strategy.
What To Do When You Win
I should mention just in case anyone wasn't aware. I don't actually play in the Sunday Storm all that often if I finish in the top 2 spots in the satellite (although you can if you want).
I un-register and have $11 in T$ (tournament money) credited to my account. I then go to the 2+2 marketplace thread and trade it for real money at a rate of 99.5%.
Example: I have T$100. I make a post on there offering it for $99.50. Somebody pm's me (usually very quickly) and we do the trade through the Pokerstars software. There is no scamming or BS possible. Both parties must agree to the trade price and then Pokerstars (usually within minutes) approves it. Easy as that.
One last thing, you might be able to achieve the best results in these satellites by playing them on the morning of the actual target tournament which is a Sunday. People may be more desperate to get a spot and play even worse than normal.
