What happened yesterday happens once every month or two. What happened today happens once every year or two. I think today was the single worst day I have ever had at NL2. I actually lost just short of 4 buyins. Its pretty remarkable to think about. I have probably played upwards of 1.5 or 2 million hands at NL2 over the years. This little patch of 5k hands was the worst in that entire million(s)+ sample. Absolute helplessness. They win every hand. I am set up to lose money in every hand. There is no script writer in hollywood who could make up the stuff I saw today. Its NOT rigged right? Right?
Back to the grind tomorrow.

Continue to run quite well. Which means that I am of course playing much better. I am winning more smaller pots with a variety of strategies that involve betting the turn more often with my mediocre to good range of hands. I am basically betting more turns, around 2/3 pot, safe and scare cards. It is often for value at the micro limits of course. But it also takes the play away from them and even gets folds from better hands against nits.

Pretty much right on pace for 200k hands now. I am finding it so difficult to not look at the results of hands. But I have to try harder b/c I want to club a baby seal every time I run remotely bad. And it is b/c NL2 tilts the hell out of me. I sometimes get tilted just looking at all the retarded regs nitting up the games. I gotta get out of this limit. I am trying really hard.

I had an enormous breakthrough today. And it had nothing to do with making money. I hardly made any. I ran very bad. I found myself monkey tilting midway through the day and so mad that I had to quit. I promptly went and destroyed a cookbook and screamed a few choice words lol. I took a bike ride after that and got a clear head again. I realized that there is no way I can do this anymore with this game. And especially the micros where I play where it is no foldem...its just a circus at times...and I don't need this shit.
So I just played my first session ever where I truly did not look at the results of any hand. I used the silent option in the chat box to keep me from reading who won what pot. I also put a piece of black tape on my monitor to cover my stack size. I disabled my script that moves tables out of the stack and just made +EV clicks. It was refreshing to say the least. I managed to run completely average (of course I had no idea what was going on at the time) and I felt completely relaxed throughout.
I may go back to real poker one day but for now this is the only way for me. Ultimately it is the purest form of poker there is anyways. It is afterall the way we are taught to play on forums and in books etc. Don't pay any attention to results. Well I guess I won't then.
PT is working again so I will post exact hand numbers once a day from now on.

Not looking at the cashier is such a hugely +EV thing to do. I never know how much I am up or down and therefore don't get attached to dollar amounts. I can happily play all day never having the tilty emotions of not doing that well or being down. Conversely I don't have the protective nervous feelings of being up big. Cuz the truth is that it doesn't matter what happens on any given day at all.
I have done the not look thing during a session before but doing it over a whole day is very very hard, at least right now. I gave in once yesterday and then looked at the end of the day as well. Just really want to concentrate on only looking at the end of the day right now. I plan to try days on end next week and maybe weeks or a month in the future.

March Forward
Ok here we go with a new month. I have a bunch of new rules that I am going to follow this month so that I don't get tilted by this game or the lovely people of the internet quite as much anymore. So the goal is 200k hands once again. And I am going to do it this time! I will be posting here several times daily with rough hand numbers from sessions.

Feb Update
I effed up the postgres SQL on PT and can't be arsed to fix it. So I still have no results. It was probably something like 130k hands. Def big fail on 200k or w/e my goal was. Just gonna try again in March. I can still use PTR as a rough guide of where I am at. Probably won't post every day but will do maybe weekly updates or something.
