New Beginnings...

Hello,

This blog will be mostly concerned with poker. I have been playing online for about 2 years now and it was my sole means of paying the bills through about half of that time. That is no longer the case and I'm fine with that. Playing for a living can be very difficult mentally at times. I have no plans on going back to that.

I have never deposited money into any online card room. I always built bankrolls by selling play money chips. I am up significantly in my short career but not nearly as much as I feel I should have been. My biggest problem by far has been...actually playing the game.

I am hoping that this blog will help motivate me to play consistently. There has been a lot of doomsday talk lately about the future of online poker post-legislation and games getting tougher. No question, the games have gotten tougher and there are some uncertainties ahead. But right now, I know I am still a solid winner in any small stakes game and I want to get what I can out of this before its over.

I will be setting a bankroll goal of 10k. I am starting from pretty modest beginnings at NL50 with a little bit over 2k. I will be playing at Full Tilt in the full ring games. I am currently about 1/4 of the way through FTP's $600 dollar bonus and I will be getting rakeback after that. These will obviously be factored into my quest to 10k.

I employ a very conservative bankroll strategy for a recreational player. I am playing with 40+ buyins right now at NL50 and I won't move up to NL100 until I have 35 buyins for it or $3500. I always 12 table and I don't use a HUD. I review my play with pokertracker.

Thats all for now.

Current Bankroll:
$2237

Amount Needed: $7763

8 years latter and online poker is still around and I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, I hope. Hey I am just finishing up my new web site following my journey. I won't put a plug in here for it, but i would like to send you a link very soon and have you look it over for an objective point of view.

    Thanks Nate.
